Photographer, super-8 film maker, furniture designer, illustrator, ceramicist and scholar of Islamic studies and architectural sociology. He lives and works in Berlin. He is currently writing a Ph.D. thesis on the architectural and societal change in the city of Jiddah, Saudi Arabia, during the twentieth century. His publications cover the contemporary politics, society and art scene of Saudi Arabia. He has co-curated and contributed to exhibitions of art, photography, and material culture in both public institutions (Berlin State Museums, Freie Universität Berlin) and private galleries.
